Overview
The K-12 Student Dashboard is part of the Guyana Digital School LMS, developed in partnership with Jain University and the Ministry of Education, Guyana. The Guyana Digital School (GDS) is an innovative educational initiative designed to provide quality learning experiences to students across the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).
For this project, I'm designing the student experience of the LMS dashboard. The goal is to create a functional yet intuitive interface that enables students to easily access coursework, track their progress, and engage with teachers and classmates, making their learning journey more seamless and interactive.
Research & Discovery: User Research
- Conducted interviews with students, teachers, and parents to understand their specific needs and pain points.
- Evaluated leading educational platforms to identify proven engagement techniques and best practices.
- Explored gamification strategies to boost student motivation and knowledge retention.
Key Findings
- Students preferred interactive elements and gamified learning experiences to stay engaged.
- Teachers needed easy-to-use course management tools to efficiently create and manage content.
- Parents required progress tracking dashboards to effectively monitor their children's learning journey.

Hi-fidelity Designs: Key Features Implemented
Showcasing individual screens, but the true highlight of this LMS lies in its seamless user flow and highly intuitive navigation. Designed for deep exploration of subjects and their topics, this system ensures a structured and engaging learning experience, which will be demonstrated through the interactive prototype.
1. Dashboard
The LMS offers automated attendance tracking, assignment submissions, real-time report cards, an interactive notice board, instant notifications, live and recorded lectures, practice quizzes, a digital library, achievement badges, an AI chatbot for assistance, and engaging growth activities to enhance student learning and engagement.
2. Attendance
Automates student attendance tracking, allowing teachers to mark presence digitally, generate reports, and track trends over time.
3. Assignments
Enables students to submit assignments online, while teachers can review, grade, and provide feedback in an organized manner.
4. Report Card
Generates real-time, detailed academic performance reports with subject-wise grades, teacher remarks, and progress analytics.
5.Notice Board
Displays important announcements, event updates, and administrative notices in a centralized location for students, teachers, and parents.
6.Achievements
Gamifies learning by awarding badges & certificates for task completion, participation, and academic milestones to boost motivation.
7.AI Chatbot
An intelligent assistant that answers student queries, provides study recommendations, and assists with navigation within the LMS.
8.Digital Library
A centralized repository of e-books, research papers, and study materials accessible anytime for enhanced learning.
9.Lectures
Provides access to live and recorded video lectures, allowing students to attend classes remotely and revisit lessons anytime.
10.Quiz
Offers interactive quizzes for self-assessment, helping students reinforce learning and prepare for exams effectively.

End to end Prototype
This project also includes a parent app and a teacher experience dashboard to enhance the overall learning ecosystem.
- Parent App: Allows parents to monitor their child’s progress, track performance, receive updates, and stay engaged with their learning journey.
- Teacher Experience Dashboard: Provides educators with an intuitive interface to manage courses, track student progress, assign tasks, and analyze performance data for a more effective teaching experience.
Both components work together to create a seamless and well-connected LMS.
